The Danish Gambling Authority reported that online casinos generated the highest revenue in the national gambling market during 2025. This marks the first time the digital sector has surpassed traditional lotteries since the market liberalization in 2012.

According to the authority, the total gross gaming revenue for the Danish market reached DKK 11.5 billion ($1.75 billion) in 2025. This figure marks a 1% decrease compared to the previous year. Online casinos contributed DKK 4.31 billion, representing 38% of the total market. This segment saw a 12.1% year-on-year growth, more than doubling its share since 2012. Monopoly lotteries contributed DKK 3.49 billion (30%), while sports betting accounted for DKK 2.13 billion (19%).
